I went to the Mr. Tire in my area and they said that tires for my ford explorer will be $800. Is there any cheaper location where i can purchase them?|||Look in craigslist %26gt; auto parts.
Search for your tire size, don't search for ford explorer in particular.|||$200 a tire is way high. go anywhere, call a couple of other shops. you should be able to get 4 tires mounted and balanced for around $100 a tire or cheaper for your explorer|||Shop all the tire locations around you. Depending on where you live, that does seem high, I'd expect between $350 and $600. Pay attention to what is included, like mounting, balancing and alignment. Also pay attention to recommended mileage. I have never gotten the recommended mileage out of a tire, but a 30,000 mile tire will last longer than a 20,000 mile tire. The Explorer is a truck and if it is loaded like a truck, it should have truck tires on it. If the only thing you use it for is driving around with no more than 600 Lbs of Friends and stuff, you can look at car tires but you then CANNOT haul the amount of weight that the sticker on the door says you can. From what I have heard, the issue a few years ago with Explorers flipping over was caused mostly by overloading and under inflating tires. Be careful of the future consequences of today's decisions.|||walmart --168 a peice
