The US military pressed an attack on the Taliban in 2001 that forced them out of power and into the Hindu Kush mountains in exile--in 7 weeks--where the military decided that winter time at 15,000 feet prevented further attack.





Just think: Clinton could have done that in ANY of 8 years in office and sat on his stupid ***.|||You need to get a clue. Maybe even do some reading on the Battle of Tora Bora. We fought a battle that simply did not go as we had planned. The enemy was there in greater numbers than we had anticipated and they were dug in waiting for us.





In addition, the distance and weather meant that we could not provide proper air support to our troops and the altitude left many of our soldier weak from 'altitude sickness.'





Logistics constraints meant that we could not take heavy weapons with us and as a result had no vehicles, artellery or mortars of our own.





BTW - I am challenging you to tell us exactly how our troops were supposed to do better under the conditions that that battle was fought under.
