Mr. Hooper maths problem?

Mr. Hooper goes to work by a private bus that picks up all the company鈥檚 employees. He

gets on at first stop and has a long way to go, so he usually naps along the way.

Today Mr. Hooper is particularly tired. He falls asleep when the bus still has twice as far to go

as it has already gone. Halfway through the trip he wakes up as the bus bounces over some

bad potholes. When he finally falls asleep again, the bus still has half the distance to go that it

has already travelled. Mr Hooper wakes up at the end of the trip.

What portion of the total trip did Mr. Hooper sleep?Mr. Hooper maths problem?
he falls asleep when the bus still has twice as far to go as it has already gone.

x+2x=1

3x=1

x=1/3 he fell asleep 1/3 into the trip.

he woke up halfway through thre trip

1/2 - 1/3 = 1/6 so far he has been asleep for 1/6 of the trip.

he falls back to sleep when the bus still has half the distance to go that it has already travelled.

x + 1/2x = 1

3/2x=1

x=2/3

he fell back to sleep at the 2/3 mark and woke up at the end, so he slept the last 1/3 of the trip

1/3 + 1/6 = 2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6, he slept for 1/2 of the bus rideMr. Hooper maths problem?
Hooper slept after traveling 1/3 rd of the distance.

Hooper wakes at 1/2 of the total distance.

He again started sleeping at the same distance. It can be taken that he wakes and started sleeping the very next moment.

So, the total distance Mr.Hooper had slept is slightly less than 2/3rd of the distance. This is because he had woken and slept at 1/2 the distance. A small amount of distance is lost.Mr. Hooper maths problem?
Ask Mr. Hooper
two thirds?
